Here are some hotels that I have stayed on whilst on various road trips, such as Ouray to Durango to Mesa Verde to Telluride to Crested Butte to Aspen. Note: the poster above me is correct that you cannot leave your dog alone in the room. So here's the short n sweet of some great places I have stayed at that allow dogs. I just wrote a long response for you, and then promptly refreshed my page and lost it. If you want me to expand on anything, let me know. A few really good art galleries but GREAT restaurants. It's cool there but there was only one main street it seemed like. We thought about going on to Santa Fe from there. The ride to Durango is something we might do also, I just don't know what else to do besides that train ride which we already did. We've eaten at the Stanley Hotel and stayed there, it was GREAT. If you do this and go on to Grand Lake, beware of speed traps. We just did Ouzel Falls in Rocky Mtn National Park and it was super scenic. They have books at Barnes & Nobles I think about dog friendly deals but you probably already know that. I'd do that one again for sure, it was gorgeous. Also, they have that great trail in town that follows along the river. You have to get on a bus and they take you to the trailhead. In the past we have stayed at Glenwood Springs and made that our base and traveled to Aspen but costs alot less to stay in Glenwood S.Īspen has that great hike to the Maroon Bells.
